Quatre coses: From the croissant to the Asian aubergines

In this space, Oriol Balaguer shares the management with his wife and chef Marta Rams: «It is a place where we offer the cuisine that we like. A restaurant and pastry shop that surprises, but they are already beginning to know us. Quatre Coses means closing my circle in gastronomy”, says the best pastry chef, according to the International Academy of Gastronomy. It is an informal concept in which the kitchen open during “non-stop” hours stands out. In other words, here we can have the best croissant in Spain for breakfast, enjoy an appetizer made up of carefully studied tapas, lunch, as well as an afternoon snack – with a coffee in hand or a gin and tonic, whatever comes up – and dinner: « I will continue working and innovating in my sweet proposals. Also, in bakery and ice cream », he adds. His goal is for us to enjoy a quality meal at any time of the day thanks to a dynamic proposal with snacks such as smoked sturgeon, oysters and Asian aubergines. Also, with the classic cap i pota, the Andalusian-style squid to enjoy with a kefir lime sauce, the croquettes, both chicken and Iberian ham, and the fritters with a honey alioli. The light mozzarella and asparagus salad triumphs and, among the spoon dishes, the squid with onion and don’t forget the chickpeas with black sausage. Of course, at any time a muffin comes in, be it Iberian bacon, pig’s feet and cheeks with foie. And, remember to leave room for dessert with the seal of Oriol Balaguer.
